Problem
Career Fingerprint was born because the founder, a software engineer named Adrian Dunham, was in the middle of a job search and had two problems. The first was that he could not keep track of all of the details of his job search including interview links, interview notes, unique cover letters for each position, and where he was in the job application process. The second problem was that at the end of interviews, he would reflect on the interview and come up with the perfect thing he should have said after the interview was over.
Solution
As a result of these problems, Adrian built a small note taking web app for his own personal use. It just kept all of the notes and job descriptions for each position together. Adrian and his wife, Emelie Dunham, eventually looked at each other and realized that this web app could be useful for other people too. So they built it out into Career Fingerprint. The web app now serves essential functions.
Why does this matter?
Career Fingerprint matters because as human beings, we don’t have it all together. Job searches and keeping up with a busy career is messy and complicated. Career Fingerprint is essentially an organizational tool that helps its users document their professional wins and growth. It isn’t AI or social media and it doesn’t tell you what to write to sound more fancy. Career Fingerprint simply gives users the organizational structure to be prepared and confident when the big moments come.
